In addition to the projects in the Orphanages, we always run various donation campaigns, which we would like to introduce to you briefly.
Aid packages for working-class families on a banana plantation. In 2019 we visited a banana plantation and prepared small aid packages with various foods and medicines. We distributed these to the families.
Shoe project in Tamale: In the north of Ghana, outside the city of Tamale, many people in villages live in deplorable conditions and lack food; they have no money to buy clothing and shoes. Many children walk barefoot and burn their feet on the ground, which is very hot from the sun. In 2021 we collected over 400 pairs of shoes and complemented them with flip-flops, which we bought at the market. We went to a big village to distribute the shoes. We were overrun, which underlined the great poverty once again.
Clothes issue from the car. Whenever we drove long distances by car, in March 2021, it was a 7-hour drive to Tamale, and we took donations of clothes, shoes and toys that we received from our circle of friends in Switzerland with us. On the way, we stop again and again and give donations to families or children on the way to school. This is how we ensure that the donations reach the people and are not sold on the market.
