Patrick has long wanted to build a library for the children of the Savior Children’s Home students. They already had a room for this.
In connection with another project, the possibility arose to send donated goods to Ghana in a shipping container.
We called for donations of English books, clothing, and toys in the neighbourhood, families, and circle of friends. As always, we had a lot of responses.
To get even more books, we contacted bookstores and international schools.
A bunch of non-fiction, school books, and novels for young and old were donated Unfortunately, the shipping container was late for over two months. That’s why the library was built in December / January, and the books moved into the building in March.
As always, Patrick had a good idea of what he wanted, so we went shopping again and got the interior for the library.
On the way, Joy came across a carpenter, and we agreed on a deal with him to build tables and shelves out of wood.
Last but not least, we had a highlight experience with the kids. 😊 Together with an artist from our acquaintances, we painted the library with the children. In addition to a lot of joy and fun, one or the other talent was discovered.
