Support for School Building Construction

Building the school is John’s top priority. The primary concern is that the children in the orphanage can be taught. Another goal is to make the school accessible to other children in the area. On the one hand, this would save them costs incurred when the orphans go to school outside of the school. With the children from the area attending school, they could generate a small additional income, which could be used to pay the teachers’ salaries.

The collected donations were not enough to finish building the entire school. The priority was that the orphans could start classes after the Christmas holidays.

To do this, the floors in 3 classrooms had to be finished. We went on a shopping spree with John and the paver to buy cement and floor tiles.

On the way, we picked up the teacher to get teaching materials and school books for the children together with her. Her joy in choosing the books was indescribable; she had waited a long time for this moment and was overjoyed, she told us.

Although there is still a lot missing to complete the school, a big step has been taken, and the children were able to start classes in the new year.
